The highly revered Labour Party of Nigeria seems to be in a bad light in Bende Federal Constituency, Abia state as members accuses the leadership of the party over what it described as overbearing possessiveness within the party lines.

The Abia state chapter of the party will have to battle image cleansing as the party appears to have gone contrary to what it ethically and morally stands for as the news making rounds has it that the party stakeholders seems not to agree with the decision of Chief Chinasa Iheanyi (Dogo Bende) as the party's flag bearer in Bende Federal Constituency National Assembly elections, describing him as a wrong ambassador and bad image to the party.

Sir Kelenta Mmaju, an aggrieved stakeholder of the party in the state who chatted with our correspondent over the phone uncontrollably poured-out his heart on the matter, noting that they accepted the candidacy of Chief Iheanyi Chinasa out of frivolity instead of carrying an Indepth background check to ascertain the real personality of the candidate, he further described it as a herculean task which may even sink the image of the party.

This position was hinged on a news on the United States department of justice website which has it that Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, 39, gaithersburg, Md., was sentenced to 84 months in prison for his participation in a scheme to defraud cisco systems Inc., announced by the Assistant Attorney General Lanny A, Breuer of the criminal Division, U S. Attorney Neil H. Macbride of Eastern District of Virginia and Michael Morehart, special Agent in charge of the FBI Richmond, Va., field office.

Chinasa was also ordered by the chief U. S. District judge James R. Spencer to pay restitution of $18,761,825, jointly and severally with Co-defendant Robert Kendrick Chambliss, who was to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term, chinasa was convicted on Feb. 7, 2011 by a federal jury Richmond of one count charge of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, eight counts of mail fraud, one count of wire fraud and one count of obstruction of an official proceedings and jailed for seven (7) years.

Reacting to the development, the Media Assistant to the Labour Party flag bearer in Bende Federal Constituency, Ojingwa Nelson, when contacted acknowledged this fact that his principal was sentenced to jail on many counts of fraud to the tune of over twenty five million dollars ( $25m), however he has served his term which according to him does not hamper his National Assembly ambition pointing that his principal is not in anyway deterred by mere witch hunt and acrimonious rumour - mongers.

When asked if he won’t defraud the common wealth of Bende people same way he did to Cisco when he worked with the company if given the opportunity. He said no comment .
